Palmer is one of the best-colored mango selections from Florida. It is available in small quantities from Brazil from August to October. The color is a complete purple or red while developing that turns to a light red and yellow upon ripening. The flesh is firm and melting. The flavor is mild and sweet, and in some years can be quite rich. Palmer is a late-season fruit, ripening after Tommy Atkins and before Keitt.
